The Compass Residences smart-growth, mixed-use project in the Bronx, the largest private rezoning project in that borough’s history, is an example of the transformational developments undertaken by Signature. When complete, Compass Residences will deliver 11 blocks of affordable and workforce housing, retail, and community facilities. Compass Residences is also Enterprise Green Communities certified, signifying the abundant use of green building systems and energy-saving materials.
In a similar fashion, Signature’s 149th Street Project is helping to transform the Mott Haven neighborhood in the Bronx. Signature acquired an abandoned industrial hub adjacent to the Major Deegan Expressway and is leading the area’s transformation into a new, mixed commercial and residential community. The nearly 300 units of affordable housing on site which Signature expects to complete by spring 2018 have sparked new waterfront development and complementary commercial development to address the changing needs of the local community and the Bronx at large.
